Winter Concert Video Bomb!

playingPerforming concerts for the community is a long standing tradition in the Five Acre School music program. This time, like every year, students get to enjoy playing for parents and loved ones “at home”, in their own school. Here are some snippets of 2014’s winter concert program. Enjoy!

Here is a great entrance into the primary classroom. The kids sing Jingle Bells in both English and French!

The Discovery Class (K-2) teams up on marimbas, dance, and vocals in the classic “Mbube”, AKA “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. This tune is normally done by older students, but the kids thought it was just too cool not to do!

The Explorer Class (3rd-5th grades) grooves with a favorite: “Boris the Bassman”, much to the delight of the onlooking Discovery kids.

Explorer and middle school students sing “Vive le vent” for some French holiday integration!

The Five Acre middle schoolers break lose with “Breaking the Chains”. A note of trivia: I have inside information that music teacher Rosie’s abbreviation for this song, BTC, transmuted the title to “Baking the Chicken” for some of the more mischievous students… :) Enjoy!
