Registration

The individual child stands at the core of the Five Acre School curriculum, this is child centered education.


Prospective Families

The rosters for all classes are full for the 23-24 school year. We are scheduling tours and will be opening enrollment to new families for the 2024-25 School year mid-March 2024. Please click on the Prospective Families button above for more information.


Touring & Registration Access 
We believe the best way for families to get a feel for Five Acre School is to have a tour of the program in action. 
  • We are asking all interested families to submit a form by clicking on the "Prospective Families" button above. You will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule a tour as the first step for access to 2024-25 registration.
  • Registration will ONLY be available to families who have had a tour.  
  • Once the registration period for current families closes we will assess how many spaces we have in each class for new families to enroll.

Enrollment in our Primary (Preschool ages 3-6) or Elementary (K-6) program is a commitment to the annual tuition as stated below or in your tuition assistance award letter, regardless of temporary modification of school operations, curriculum, schedule, or programming. 

Tuition and Fees
Please note that tuition rates and supply fees are subject to change slightly each year due to inflation and cost of living expenses. Our board is continually working to keep costs as low as possible while maintaining high-quality education.

There will be a 6% discount for families that pay in full on or before July 15, 2024. You will be invoiced in early July if you decide to pay in full. Please do not pay before receiving an invoice. Your deposit will be credited to your total, and invoices will reflect that. In addition, any past-due invoices must be paid before the end of the current school year to receive the discounted rate. We accept cash, checks, and automatic bank transfers for payments in full. 

There will be a 10% tuition discount for younger enrolled siblings of older students. The discount will be applied to pay in full or monthly tuition.

Families who do not pay in full will pay monthly by automatic debit over 10 months. All monthly payments MUST be set up for automatic debit through automatic bank transfer. Sign-ups for automatic debit will be through a separate “2024-25 Automatic Bank Transfer Form,” which will be sent to you in early July and due by July 15th. If you fail to provide account information, we assume you have chosen to withdraw and will contact you to begin the withdrawal process. 

Supply fees will be invoiced in early July and are due July 31st, 2024. The first monthly tuition payment will be auto-drafted on August 15, 2024, and the final payment for the 2024-25 school year will be on May 15, 2025. 

Deposit Information 
The deposit is a payment refunded when a student withdraws at the end of a school year or is credited should you decide to “pay in full.” As stated above, you will receive an emailed invoice through Quickbooks once you submit online registration. Deposits must be paid by the date indicated on your invoice to ensure your child’s placement for the 2024-25 school year. 
  • The deposit for "pay in full" tuition is paid upon registration to hold a student’s spot and then is credited back on the “pay in full” invoice.
  • Deposits are $995 for Elementary (K-6) students, $460 (2-day Primary), $647.50 (3-day Primary), or $957.50 (5-day Primary). New siblings/students will also pay a one-time registration fee of $50. 
  • Tuition Assistance applicants will pay the deposit after the Tuition Assistance Award letter is received with the amount listed on the Tuition Assistance Award letter. 
Withdrawal 
As we make staffing and budget decisions for the year based on the premise that students will be enrolled for an entire academic year, we require families to commit to the full year when enrolling their child(ren). Should you choose to withdraw your child after May 15th, 2024, the deposit will not be refunded, and you will be expected to pay tuition equal to the number of months your child has already attended during the 2024-25 school year. The supply fee is also non-refundable. As school is compulsory for Elementary students, we will support you in providing transcripts for enrollment in the public school, online school, or state registration for homeschooling. 

Classroom Information 
Students enrolled in Five Acre School receive guidance, “Room to Grow” and tracking to support individualized learning to foster the growth of the whole child. Our classroom teachers meet with families a minimum of 4 times during the school year to discuss social/emotional learning, academics, goals, and growth. If you would like further information regarding the curriculum in the classroom before registration, please email office@fiveacreschool.org, and we will provide you with the information you need.

Primary (Preschool) Class Orientation 
Before May 15th, the deposit refund deadline for withdrawal, New Primary Families will have the opportunity for a half hour classroom visit. Additionally, our Classroom Teachers will host a Primary Orientation meeting in late May or early June for families new to the Primary classroom. 

Student Vaccination 
As an independent school and licensed childcare in WA, we are obligated to follow state immunization requirements for schools. For more information on WA state immunization requirements, click HERE. 

Tuition Assistance 
Tuition Assistance is available through our Tuition Assistance Fund, funded by individual donations and Five Acre School Parent Service Organization (PSO) fundraisers. The amount available for tuition assistance depends on the amount raised through donations and fundraising and is limited. However, our goal is that finances not be a barrier to families that feel the Five Acre philosophy is a good fit for their child. We encourage all families who feel they need financial support to apply, and our committee will do the best we can to meet our families' needs. 

Tuition Assistance is determined by an unbiased independent volunteer committee. The committee makes the final award determinations in a blind process (they do not know the identities of the families who have applied), according to a rubric, based primarily on need. In awarding tuition assistance, the committee considers family financial data and the total annual tuition amount to be paid. The process to apply for tuition assistance is as follows: 
  1. Register your child for the 2024-25 school year by completing and submitting the online registration form; please use the link on page one of this letter. If you are enrolling a new student, after submitting the form, you will receive an invoice for a $50 registration fee, which you must pay directly through Quickbooks. You will pay a deposit AFTER tuition assistance awards are announced. Your deposit will be based on your award amount. 
  2. Fill out the Five Acre School Tuition Assistance Application (attached) and return it to the office or mail along with last year’s tax return, copies of W-2s, and any property tax statements. Some families choose to include a letter to describe their financial picture more in depth if the documents do not do an adequate job. 
  3. The Tuition Assistance Committee will announce awards approximately 2 weeks after the application deadline, and applicants will then have 2 weeks to accept and pay a deposit or decline the award.  Please mark your packet CONFIDENTIAL and mail to:
