Prospective Families

We are now enrolling for the 2025-2026 School Year for preschool (Ages 3 - 5) and 2nd - 6th Grade (limited openings). Please click on the Prospective Families button above for more information.


Touring & Registration Access 
We believe the best way for families to get a feel for Five Acre School is to have a tour of the program in action. 
  • We are asking all interested families to submit a form by clicking on the "Prospective Families" button above. You will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule a tour as the first step for access to 2025-26 registration.
  • Registration will ONLY be available to families who have had a tour.  
  • Once the registration period for current families closes we will assess how many spaces we have in each class for new families to enroll.

Once you have completed your online registration, you can expect to receive an emailed invoice through QuickBooks for any deposit or registration fees due. Deposit and registration fee balances must be paid by the date indicated on your invoice to ensure your child’s placement for the 2025-26 school year. If balances are not paid, your child’s spot may be filled by another student. Please see page two for further details regarding the deposits. 

Enrollment in our Primary (Preschool) or Elementary (K-6) program is a commitment to the annual tuition as stated below (or upcoming in your tuition assistance award letter- should you choose to apply), regardless of temporary modification of school operations, curriculum, schedule, or programming. 

Tuition and Fees
Please note that tuition rates and supply fees are subject to change each year due to inflation and cost of living expenses. Our board is continually working to keep costs as low as possible while maintaining high-quality education. 

  •   Elementary- Disc/Adv/Exp: $10,550 per year OR $1055 /month for 10 mos. $500 Supply Fee
  •   Primary 
    • 5- days/wk: $10,150 per year OR $1015 /month for 10 mos. $270 Supply Fee 
    • 3- days/wk: $6,865 per year OR $686.50 /month for 10 mos. $205 Supply Fee
    • 2- days/wk: $4,876 per year OR $487.60 /month for 10 mos. $145 Supply Fee
We understand that families have different preferences regarding managing tuition payments. This year, we will continue to offer the option to pay the full annual tuition amount in one lump sum before the start of the school year. However, we will no longer be offering a pay-in-full discount. Families choosing this option will be invoiced in early July, and payments must be made by July 15, 2025. Your deposit will be credited to your total, and invoices will reflect that. We accept cash, checks, and automatic bank transfers for payments made in full.

There will be a 10% tuition discount for younger enrolled siblings of older students. The discount will be applied to pay in full or monthly tuition payments.

Families who do not pay in full will pay monthly by automatic debit over 10 months. All monthly payments MUST be set up for automatic debit through automatic bank transfer. Sign-ups for automatic debit will be through a separate “2025-26 Automatic Bank Transfer Form,” which will be sent to you after May 15th and due by July 15th. If you fail to provide account information, we assume you have chosen to withdraw and will contact you to begin the withdrawal process. 

The first monthly tuition payment will be auto-drafted on August 15, 2025, and the final payment for the 2025-26 school year will be on May 15, 2026. Supply fees will be invoiced in early July and are due July 31st, 2025. 

Deposit Information
The deposit is a refundable payment when a student withdraws at the end of the school year, or it may be credited if you choose to "pay in full." After completing your online registration, you will receive an emailed invoice through QuickBooks. Deposits must be paid by the due date indicated on the invoice to secure your child's placement for the 2025-26 school year.
For families opting for "pay in full" tuition, the deposit is paid at registration to hold your student's spot and is then credited toward your "pay in full" invoice.

Deposits are $1055 for Elementary (K-6) students, $487.60 for 2-day Primary, $686.50 for 3-day Primary, and $1015 for 5-day Primary students. New siblings and new students will also incur a one-time registration fee of $60.

For Tuition Assistance applicants, the deposit is due after receiving your Tuition Assistance Award letter, based on the amount specified in the letter (more details below).

Withdrawal Policy
As staffing and budget decisions are made based on the assumption that students are enrolled for the entire school year, families must financially commit to the entire school year when enrolling.

If a family withdraws their child after May 15, 2025, the school will retain the deposit to cover administrative costs associated with filling the vacancy. Families with unfilled vacancies may be liable to continue paying tuition until the position is filled.
Additionally, after January 1, 2026, we will not fill vacancies in elementary classrooms, as doing so disrupts the established programming and learning environment.

Families who wish to withdraw must provide written notice of withdrawal at least seven (7) business days prior to their next scheduled tuition payment. Failure to provide timely notice may result in the processing of the next scheduled payment. Please note that the supply fee is non-refundable. For elementary students, we will assist in providing transcripts for transfer to public school, online school, or state registration for homeschooling, as school attendance is compulsory.

Classroom Information 
Students enrolled in Five Acre School receive guidance, “Room to Grow” and tracking to support individualized learning to foster the growth of the whole child. Our classroom teachers meet with families a minimum of 4 times during the school year to discuss social/emotional learning, academics, goals, and growth. If you would like further information regarding the curriculum in the classroom before registration, please email office@fiveacreschool.org, and we will provide you with the information you need. 

Primary (Preschool) Class Orientation 
New Primary students will have the opportunity for a half-hour classroom visit before the deposit refund withdrawal deadline of May 15th. Additionally, our classroom teachers will host a Primary Orientation meeting for families new to the Primary classroom in late May or early June.

Student Vaccination 
As an independent school and licensed childcare in WA, we are obligated to follow state immunization requirements for schools. For more information on WA state immunization requirements, click HERE. 

Tuition Assistance 
Tuition Assistance is available through our Tuition Assistance Fund, which is funded by individual donations, fundraising campaigns, and Five Acre School Parent Service Organization (PSO) fundraisers. The amount available for tuition assistance depends on the amount raised through donations and fundraising and is limited. However, our goal is that finances not be a barrier to families that feel the Five Acre philosophy is a good fit for their child. We encourage all families who feel they need financial support to apply, and our committee will do the best we can to meet our families' needs. 

An unbiased independent volunteer committee determines Tuition Assistance. The committee makes the final award determinations in a blind process (they do not know the identities of the families who have applied), according to a rubric, based primarily on need. In awarding tuition assistance, the committee considers family financial data and the total annual tuition amount to be paid. The process to apply for tuition assistance is as follows:

Register your child for the 2025-26 school year by completing and submitting the online registration form; please use the link on page one of this letter. If you are enrolling a new sibling, after submitting the form, you will receive an invoice for a $60 registration fee, which you must pay directly through Quickbooks. You will pay a deposit AFTER tuition assistance awards are announced. Your deposit will be based on your award amount. 

Fill out the Five Acre School Tuition Assistance Application (attached) and return it to the office or by mail along with your 2024 tax return, copies of W-2s, and any property tax statements. You may include a letter to describe more in depth your financial picture if the documents do not do an adequate job. Please mark your packet CONFIDENTIAL and mail to:

The current DEADLINE for the TUITION ASSISTANCE APPLICATION is 3 pm, April 15, 2025. 

The Tuition Assistance Committee will announce awards approximately 2 weeks after the application deadline, and applicants will then have 2 weeks to accept and pay a deposit or decline the award.
