Science Month in Discovery Class
Science Month
January has been Science Month in Discovery! Each week, we have a different science subject that we learn about and experiment with. We are practicing a few of the important things scientists do when experimenting, such as drawing diagrams, changing only one variable each time, observing, and forming a hypothesis.
Week 1: Magnets! Magnets were a big hit! We tested out all kinds of magnets, did a compass experiment, and made magnet mazes.
Week 2: Simple Machines! We did inclined plane experiments, made pulleys, and tested out levers, wedges, wheels and axels, and screws around the classroom.
Week 3: Rube Goldberg! We learned about Rube Goldberg’s comics and made our own Rube Goldberg machines with our simple machine knowledge!
Week 4: Next week we’ll learn about Chemistry and baking science!
