Words from Explorer Class and Winter Activities
News from Explorer Class
On hike day, December 3, Explorer students worked with Amos Almy, the Visitor Services Manager for the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe's Refuge Management Program, to build habitat piles, which will provide shelted for a variety of species as well as potentially slow down wildfires. Read more about it in the forthcoming edition of Five Star News (story by Wolf, photo by Myka). You might notice the four habitat piles they built if you are on your way down to the spit!
Poetry Fest
Join us this Friday, December 19th at 12:30pm in the Explorer Classroom for our annual Poetry Festival, featuring the Adventure and Explorer classes. While the festival has been a beloved December tradition since 2013, Five Acre students have been reading and writing poetry for over 20 years. Poetry offers a joyful, creative outlet for students to explore voice, style, and word choice—and we are especially proud of the vibrant creative writing culture that continues to flourish in our school community. Come on out and experience our Poetry Festival!
