Playing Hard in Explorer

Hike

Students made the best a rainy/sunny hike time at the meadow this past week, playing games together and enjoying the special weather.

Chess

Explorer students are enthusiastic about learning more about chess and playing more! They had a great session on a recent Tuesday with everyone involved. We plan on making chess a regular feature in class!

In Fiber Arts, we often start each class with a story. Reading first thing not only sets the tone of class it helps to bring seasons, themes, or characters to life. Having the opportunity to transform what we read into a mixed media art project deepens understanding as we build skills. Students receive a different dimension to learning beyond just audio or visual senses by adding tactile sensory learning through creating art. Since art making is a tactile, and multi-sensory experience it helps expand cognitive processing and creative thinking.
