"Tricksters in Limbo"

This year's annual Five Acre School play is called "Tricksters in Limbo".  A trickster is an entertaining character who uses their wits, rather than their strength, to get the better of a larger, stronger person or animal. They delight in breaking rules, boasting, and playing tricks. When a grumpy jailer decides he has had enough of the tricky creatures of the world (in this case Raven, Brer Rabbit, Anansi the spider, and Leprechaun) he tracks them down and throws them in jail. As each animal in the play gets a chance to act out one of his stories for the other captives, we learn a bit about the culture their story comes from and get a chance to laugh at and appreciate their antics. See how they use their trickery to escape their predicament!

We are pleased to invite you to attend a this free, fun and lively performance, Friday March 27th at 1 pm or 6pm.  It will take place at the Sequim Community Church. See flyer below for details.

Rosie brought two visitors in to be with our students this month in conjunction with our school play "Tricksters in Limbo" and "Tricksters of the World". Helen Masvikeni a Zimbabwean artist who danced and drummed with us, and Aaron Parker, who taught us about the Trickster Raven.
