Barn Dance Update

We have news that's bittersweet to share: this year's Barn Dance is postponed.

At the January PSO meeting, we faced a reality check about our volunteer capacity. With the capital campaign in full swing to secure our forever home, we simply can't give the Barn Dance the energy it deserves right now.

Event Chair Kia Armstrong had a great idea: let's hold the Barn Dance as a victory celebration after we've secured our site. Everyone agreed—what better reason to dance than celebrating that milestone?

We know this is disappointing. The Barn Dance is a beloved tradition. But this year demands focus, and our priority is building a foundation that will sustain the Five Acre School for decades to come.

We'll dance again. And when we do, we'll have something incredible to celebrate.

We hope you will join us at our next meeting Feb 10, 2025 @ 5:30PM in the Explorer classroom.

In Fiber Arts, we often start each class with a story. Reading first thing not only sets the tone of class it helps to bring seasons, themes, or characters to life. Having the opportunity to transform what we read into a mixed media art project deepens understanding as we build skills. Students receive a different dimension to learning beyond just audio or visual senses by adding tactile sensory learning through creating art. Since art making is a tactile, and multi-sensory experience it helps expand cognitive processing and creative thinking.
